Darley Village is a retirement community in Fruitport, spread out across roughly 37 acres. Thornapple Excavating assisted in the 21-unit expansion of their main assisted-living facility and started the construction on 38 condo-style cottages in October of 2019. The entire project will be split into four phases, three of which will be exclusively cottages.
The first phase included excavating 10-12 feet out of the center of the large retention pond in the middle of the property. After reshaping the slopes, this resulted in an almost 6,000 cubic yard cut in the pond area alone.
